Tom's floral paintings reflect a wide range of
influence, drawing upon elements from Impressionism through Pollock, sprinkled with touches of Monet, Gustav Klimt, and Camille
Pisarro, among others. The floral paintings here are loosely grouped into Flower
Field Painting, Garden Flowers, Floral Landscape, and Still Life.
The Flower Field paintings, such as those
pictured below, make use of an allover effect without regard to gravity, like some of Klimt's images of flowers, or isolated
areas of Monet's impressionist compositions.
